Welcome to our practice

Your peace is on our minds

Our Impact

We work with our patients to recognize and build upon their strengths and resiliency to improve their self-esteem and confidence.

We are dedicated to providing our services with respect and compassion in a nonjudgmental, safe environment in which our patients feel open to sharing their vulnerabilities and telling their meaningful stories.

Meeting each patient where they are and forming collaborative therapeutic relationships that allow us to work towards identified goals together:

  • Reducing feelings of stress/guilt/self-doubt.

  • Improving healthy personal and professional relationships.

  • Working through past issues so they are well integrated and do not interfere with a happier, healthier, more fulfilling present and future.

  • Increasing your ability to feel content.

  • Improving communication and encouraging vulnerability in order to create an emotionally safe environment.

Our Approach

Our group practice was developed through shared learning experiences. We believe that in order to support our clients, we constantly need to engage in self-learning, group consultations, and a solid integration of theory and practice.

We are extremely passionate about supporting people to better their lives and improve their wellbeing.

Our services emphasize racial and ethnic diversity and are LGBTQ sensitive.

We believe that individuals, couples, and families can benefit from meaningful support and guidance. Our approach places a strong emphasis on understanding a problem and working toward a solution by developing open channels of honest communication during sessions. This way, our patients practice engaging in healthy forms of communication that they can take outside the room in order to build and nurture productive, fulfilling relationships.

In Person and Telehealth

We offer appointments in person in our Upper East Side Location (247 E 82nd street) and

HIPAA-compliant telemental health appointments.

We are constantly learning through research and clinical literature about the short-term and

long-term effects of Covid-19 on individuals, couples, and families. We make sure to bring awareness to the impact of the global changes on the individual and offer our patients a safe, supportive space in which to process some of the painful feelings brought on by the reality of

living through a global pandemic.

Meet Our Founder

IMG_3066.heic

I am a clinical social worker with over 10 years of clinical experience. I specialize in providing evidence-based and strengths-based therapy for individuals and couples therapy for adults with a history of trauma.

Meet Our Team

Elana Bakst, LMSW

Each of us has a story to tell and I'm here to listen to yours, to provide a safe, encouraging space to reflect on your experiences and create positive change that matters most to you.

Kristen Pfeffer, LMSW

Drawing on 20-plus years of experience in theatre and as a yoga and fitness instructor, we will co-create a unique therapeutic process that examines your motivation and formulates meaningful goals.

Lara Morrison, LMSW

With warmth, empathy and often humor, I strive to create a safe and non-judgemental space where you feel free to explore the past, engage fully in the present and create the future that you envision for yourself.

Noa Segev, LMSW

I strongly believe in the importance of mental health and how it affects our lives. As a compassionate and empathetic therapist, I am dedicated to creating a safe space for individuals to explore their true selves. Through deep listening and a trusting therapeutic relationship, I will provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to bring forth what’s on your mind and heart.

Yael Gichtin, LMSW

I understand that life can be tough and it’s common to feel overwhelmed and unsure of how to handle life’s stressors and challenges. If you’re feeling sad, anxious, or like your usual coping skills aren’t working, know that you’re not alone and there is support available. Therapy can be a safe space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and make positive changes in your life.
